I used to love kpop.

Listening to this song reminded me why.

At 30 seconds the group goes deep and starts really encouraging people to go deep and find their hiden self. This resonates with my time right now finding myself.

Kpop often does this. They talk about dancing and partying or love and partners but then they have this moment where they encourage you to stop hiding and really start being a boss or your best self in a way that is less like pop songs do in the US. In the US it feels more like they are doing it in order to say let’s get wasted or be selfish. Alessia Cara and a few others stand out from this I think, but very few do it well enough that I actually feel encouraged to be better and myself.
